The Raleigh Ringers are an internationally acclaimed, advanced community handbell choir based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since their founding in 1990, The Raleigh Ringers have been dazzling concert audiences with unique interpretations of sacred, secular and popular music, including famous rock 'n' roll tunes arranged just for handbells. The choir performs on one of the most extensive collections of bells and bell-like instruments owned by any handbell ensemble in the world.
Under the direction of David M. Harris, The Raleigh Ringers have released five CDs, and a DVD of a holiday concert titled "One Winter Evening at Meymandi." This concert was turned into two one-hour concert specials that have been broadcast on more than 250 Public Television stations in 45 states. The group has performed in 36 states, in several cities in France, live on the nationally syndicated "Bob and Tom Show" radio show, and on the "Hour of Power" at the Crystal Cathedral.
The Jubilate Ringers from the First Congregational Church in Melrose are pleased to be hosting the Raleigh Ringers. It has been a decade since the Raleigh Ringers last performed in Massachusetts, and this is their only concert in the Boston area on their summer 2013 New England tour. This concert funded in part by the Melrose Messina Fund for the Arts.
